Foreigners claiming the right of asylum (asylum seekers) must submit their claims in accordance with the procedures specified in the Asylum Procedure Act. The Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF), which lies within the remit of the Federal Ministry of the Interior, is responsible for processing all asylum claims.
